      Cons

      Unless you drink the coolaid... you are going to be very dissatisfied. The culture of Merck did not mix well with that of Schering-Plough.

      Great Place to Learn, Not a good place to advance

      Pros

      - Highly smart and competent people. - High degree of responsibility, as well as freedom - You have space to define yourself

      Cons

      - Company going through a change, which is a questionable strategy in itself. - Extremely limited opportunities for advancement in the current environment - Merger with Schering hasn't still stabilized the working environement here. Confusion still exists.. policies and organizations are still being consolidated - Productivitiy is up, mainly due to fear of job loss - Salaries and compensation is being constrained.

      Different projects available to challenge portfolio of experience and many people with different backgrounds top help enhance your career growth.

      Cons

      As with most companies like this there is a high workload and the hours can take on a more than 9 - 5 model. Up to the individual to control this though with boundaries.
