Pros

Flextime. Pretty good benefits and up until recently, after restructuring, there was good career development opportunities

Cons

Bad press coverage over several product (fair and unfair) have brought the company to its knees, in my opinion. financially, it is still sound but the entire culture has changed as a result. It was rough going under the economic climate already but the fallout from Vioxx and other product-related problems have really hurt the brand which has just made things worse.

Pros

Most of the personalities within the company, at least on the sales level, are fairly consistent. The personality test employees must take in order to be hired help keep a relatively consistent company culture. The products overall are decent, 13 holidays a year are pretty good, 401k match is good. Not sure if 401k match is somewhat standard across the industry however.

Cons

As in this industry, the job is highly dependent upon the quality of the supervising district manager. Salary tends to be in the 50th percentile of the industry, promotions to higher salary bands are not always performance dependent (there is a tenure aspect as well).

Pros

To be honest, I can't think of any right now! I'm sure there were many at one point in time but there is very little enthusiasm left in this work place.

Cons

Little or no professional development. Excellent performance does not equal equal excellent rewards. If you know how to play the political game (and kiss a lot of a@$#) you have the potential to go far! Right now they are making cost cuts left right and center, although i believe Fred and his gang still get to ride everywhere in their chauffer driven limousines. At least the company is still spending money where it counts!
