      Pros

      compensation. Some flexibility in work schedule but depends on group/boss you have.

      Cons

      constantly changing and being told we can not handle change. Management makes statements then makes you wait months to find out what they are about. Once again we are reorganizing and some of their choices for leadership are questionable, did they ever do anything to get feedback of who is a good leader and who is not.

      Pros

      As a Schering-Plough employee, you get to be a part of one of the key global leader in the pharma industry. Huge company with many possibilities (in theory) to evolve in other positions and challenges.

      Cons

      Unfortunately, you better be good in politics if you want to make progress in your career. Very good external communication but very bad internal one. Everything goes well inside the ivory tower but too many high executives orget to look outside the window...

      Mismatch between public face and private culture

      Pros

      Broad-based pharmaceutical company with opportunities in multiple professional and geographic areas. The range of the company - including human and animal health, prescription and OTC pharma, research as well as sales - provides good scope for lateral moves. The company is well represented in most countries, however expatriate assignments are not fostered.

      Cons

      Very significant disconnect between values espoused in public and the business culture actually in place. The company and Fred Hassan present a very attractive philosophy and vision, however in reality the company is very aggressive commercially with a lot of cynical attitudes among staff who must act in ways that are not reflected in the espoused culture.
