Pros

At our company, we're fortunate to have a hybrid work setup, offering us the best of both worlds: the option to work from the comfort of our homes or to collaborate in person at the office. This flexibility is especially beneficial given our global reach, allowing us to connect and work with colleagues from around the world. There's a genuine sense of good intention from our executive team, aiming to steer us towards growth and success. I've had the pleasure of working with some incredibly talented associate directors who really stand out for their dedication and contributions. When it comes to our benefits and salary, I feel they are quite fair, sitting comfortably within what's expected in our industry. It's also heartwarming to see how some of our colleagues go above and beyond to create a friendly and supportive environment, making it a pleasant place to work.

Cons

The hybrid work model comes with its own set of challenges, such as the oddity of commuting to the office only to hop onto virtual meetings with our global teammates. I've noticed a puzzling gap in salary between some of our male and female employees, which doesn't seem to align with the equitable and inclusive values we aim to uphold. There's also a noticeable disconnect between the vision of our executive team and the day-to-day realities, partly due to gaps in communication and alignment with middle management. It seems like promotions are sometimes more about who you know rather than the hard work and value one brings to the team, which can be disheartening for those of us aspiring to grow based on our merits. Our transformation efforts have been a bit of a mixed bag, veering more towards chaos than the agility we hoped for, which has made for a challenging experience. It's clear we have a mix of overworked and underutilized staff, suggesting we might need to take a step back, perhaps even consider a job freeze, to better align our talent with the needs of the business.
