Pros

At Mercury, there is opportunity to design with the latest and greatest technology. Designs of modules and systems bring exciting challenges that require high density solutions and innovation. The people are intelligent and hard working. Team members are willing to help each other. There is always work to do and employees are always busy, sometimes too busy. Overall, Mercury is a good place to work.

Cons

At Mercury, often there is overload of work under aggressive schedules. There are often many #1 priorities that make juggling complicated for engineers and managers which then results in lower efficiency. New developments may get pushed to the next phases when there are still unknowns. Acceleration can require repeating steps or trying to catch-up on early phases at the end, often prolonging total life cycle. Overall, Mercury is a good place to work.

Pros

Fast paced and energetic work environment with people who want to 'get things done'. Everyone is friendly and willing to lend a hand with any issue that comes up. Great access to the tools you need to get the job done and support infrastructure is quick to respond (doesn't take weeks to get tools needed to do your job). Smart and talented engineers working together on interesting and challenging projects.

Cons

Sparse documentation - engineers have an immense amount of domain knowledge stored in their heads and in some cases to only way to figure out how to do something is to ask the right person

Pros

Acceptable to work in for you like hardware components and working with prime contractors in defense. Develops cutting edge technology and really smart engineers.

Cons

An old guys company, feels like a time warp back to the early 80s. Can't imagine any young person wanting to work there. 1. Work Environment is nothing like those offered by companies located in Boston. I bet they still don't provide free coffee never mind any other perks. ! 2. Unsatisfying that Product(s) are components to larger systems.. Deliverable product is never branded "Mercury" so their is a lack of brand recognition. 3. Management is full of expatriates (British and French) or guys that have been with the company forever. Success is measured by their growing waistlines. Lack of woman in leadership roles. 4. Extreme dependency on Defense budget. If we ever smarten up as nation and reduce Defense spending this company is history. 5. Located off I-495, the snow belt of Massachusetts. Another 80s throwback reference. Who wants to work in that area unless you live in NH?
