Management is a total joke.

Pros

Benefits start right away, training is great for Epic, time off is usually always granted as long as you give at least a days worth of notice.

Cons

Extremely low pay for MA's, LPN's, and other medical support staff, and I do mean EXTREMELY LOW. Poverty levels. An MA will start out at less than 10 an hour, and the most you'll ever make as an LPN is $15 an hour, but that's after 7 years of employment!! You'll make $11.25 an hour for the first 2 years of your employment with .20 cent raises once every year to two years. Management is lazy, they side step issues, and there is major employee favoritism that can be a threat to you if the favorites don't like you. I would have never come to work for Mercy had I known what I know now about how things are run on the inside.

Pros

Impressive Critical Care units. Competent Physicians. Tuition Reimbursement. Co-workers are okay, same as anywhere else.

Cons

The administration is completely out of touch with the clinical staff. Supplies/Staffing budget cuts coincide with demands for better patient care/satisfaction (upon which annual raises are based). Employee "benefits" package is gutted by administration citing economic downturn, while top-level executive compensation packages skyrocket.

Pros

less work , people sit idle, no IT direction. Good for anyone just needing a paycheck and not concerned about having a challenging environment and growth. People just sit in their cubes and yawwwn.lol

Cons

no challenges, no growth. if you like a slow work ; no growth kind of profile, it is for you. People get fired anytime for no reason, specially the faithful ones celebrating their 10+ years of anniversary.Lots of favoritism. Internal job transfer is a joke- you have to tell your current boss before applying for another internal position so that he can hate you for life and make sure you do not grow anymore.
