Pros

The co-workers, and certain customers were always lovely. That is really it as far as 'pros' go. (random words for text minimum)

Cons

1. Misleading statements about compensation when hired, only to find out later that you are working for less than minimum wage, which is not legal. 2. Not being compensated for hours to and from job sites -- only for the hours you've spent in a home. 3. Your hours are your own responsibility to keep track of, as the company records will always be incorrect. 4. Management is not focused on quality workmanship, only the amount of money they can bring in. If you are allowed 3 hours at a job site and exceed that, your pay decreases, even if your hard work brings in new customers of keeps existing customers happy. 5. There is no praise for good work from the company. 6. There are no real breaks of any kind unless YOU make sure you take them, but if your partner for the day doesn't want to do it, you work through it. If you do stop for lunch, you end up eating and driving at the same time, which is, by law, not a lunch break. 7. If you accidentally break something, you face demotion. I have heard that certain former employees have gone home in tears each day after such an incident as the management has nitpicked everything they have done until they can't take it anymore and quit.

Pros

lovely co-workers, not being stuck in an office

Cons

I only worked for Merry Maids for a week before I caught on that everything I was told when I was hired was misrepresented at best. I was willing to put in the hours, deal w/ the commute and put my life on the back burner based on what I was promised, but I discovered that the pay was very little and that in order to even make minimum wage, I'd be expected to work at a very unrealistic pace and cut corners for 10-12 hours a day. I just received my 1st check and it is wrong. I imagine they won't ever fix it. I spent more in gas than I made during that one week.
