Pros

The work study position provided a flexible schedule and allowed for freedom in the job position. Those in positions of leadership were easy to work with and it wasn't a 'chore' to go to work.

Cons

As the positions was 'entry level', there wasn't much responsibility available. Also, as a work study job, there was no chance of advancement.

Pros

I can only speak to an adjunct's experience of the English department. The leadership is warm, respectful, and accommodating -- if at somewhat of a remove due to the large size of the department. The department feels well run, staff is friendly, and I have found both full-time faculty and other adjuncts helpful and accessible.

Cons

The pay is abysmal, but this is true county-wide.
