Pros

Company pays for uniforms. Corporate will pay for & encourages training from outside the company. Great exposure to learn multiple disciplines - construction, chemical engineering, controls, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, sales, unit ops, contractor management, and customer service. Good starting pay & bonus. Job security - Production wasn't affected during COVID.

Cons

You will have no life. There will be constant problems that will need to be solved morning, noon, and night. If there aren't any at your plant, then you will be required to give your resources such as personnel or yourself to "assist" other plants. This happens a lot. Different Plants & departments are not held to the same standards. You will find out that other departments/plants do the bare minimum & are not held accountable. You will struggle to get other people to do their jobs. Increased responsibilities with no increase of pay. You will be given more jobs, be asked to travel, and do more aspects of the job without increased pay. Even if the responsibilities add up to another full-time job (or multiple), then you will be required to do them. If you dare ask for increased compensation, then management will "clutch their pearls" and give you the "how dare you ask for more money?" response. Learning curve. On day one you will be required to know all aspects of the business. This takes about a year to learn. Once you do learn the process & aspects of the business it gets better, but chances are you'll be thrown into a new side of the business and the process starts over again. Manipulative corporate management. During COVID, everyone that was paid salary had theirs cut by 10% and 401k contributions suspended, etc. This went on for over a year. Meanwhile, corporate publicly congratulated themselves for breaking sales quotas and record profits each quarter. When confronted, they evaded the question or gave an excuse like "due to uncertainty..." Running lean. The company likes to "run lean", which means they will make hiring new people or back-filing very difficult. They'll play dumb or outright lie to you when confronted. However, if it affects upper management, then you'll be shocked at how fast a replacement is found/hired. Bad training. There is no "hands on training". All training is on the computer and is mostly there as a corporate C.Y.A.
