Pros

Flexible hours, nice people, lots of free lunches from wholesalers. You learn a lot about sales, retirement, and life insurance and annuity products. The firm provides a laptop, a desk phone, and supports you with marketing and case building assistance. Six months stipend is $15k.

Cons

Get ready to find yourself between a rock and a hard place. Clients break your heart; pay days break your heart because pay is confusing). You have to spend your own money on business (that you can eventually write off) Recruiters will say anything to get you in the door. There is little to no supervision (which should be a pro but not when you need help.) It takes one month for you to get your computer, and its hard to meet with clients without one. Your income depends on clients, and clients are the worst, uninterested, slow moving, call dodging people. From the first time you meet, till when you get paid, it could be 2-6 months (and only 1/10 will do business.) Please come in with a strong affluent natural market of people that you can sell to if you come on board.
