Pros

Freedom to create your own schedule, company car, work from home, brand recognition, great benefits, good products, good co-workers, tuition reimbursement.

Cons

Work-life balance. In certain divisions, working moms are "frowned" upon. Work comes first before family.

Pros

Walnut Street Securities provides an excellent gateway for independent advisors. Excellent support from the back office and immediate attention is provided when problems arise.

Cons

The main issue with being involved with an independent brokerage firm is the lack of benefits or discounts available with group coverage. This is the downside inherent with being a contracted employee.
