Pros
-Compensation & benefits. Total no-brainer. I was waaaaaayyy overpaid vs. market — one big reason I took the job -The people. Generally speaking, almost everyone I worked with at FB was kind, smart and capable. -Resources. They're drowning in cash — maybe you've heard? If you excel at making a case, you'll get what you need to do your work. -Work/life balance. Depends on the team, but I had no complaints during my time. With my manager's support, I was able to set clear boundaries around workload, timing, and expectations with co-workers. -The company cares about you. Seriously, they do. I really believe this. Pretty impressive for a company operating at this scale.
Cons
-Politics. Obviously this is an issue in most workplaces. FB is not an exception. -Chaotic. This is a big one. There are a zillion projects in play at all times, and not all will be remembered or completed. Getting to the finish line is not guaranteed, and you may be frustrated when a project you've spent months working on is suddenly killed. -Process. FB is probably the most "corporate" environment I've ever worked in. Expect meetings about meetings and endless stakeholder reviews that get in the way of actually getting your work done.
