Pros

- Can generally get things done on merit - People support one another and tend to form friendships outside work - Pay and benefits excellent - Investment in skill/career growth

Cons

- Became increasingly political as company grew, lots of empire-building - Bottlenecks with upper management - Peter principle in action with 'old time' Facebookers in positions of power with no accountability - People tend to burn out quickly as pressure/expectations are extremely high and doesn't let up

Pros

Great comp and benefits. Medical and other services available on campus, which is helpful for working partners in particular. Opportunity to make a global impact.

Cons

Engineering rules. Other functions are there to help. Trying to scale whilst maintaining a startup culture is a bumpy road. Performance culture can drive siloh-ed efforts focused on in-half results.

Pros

Super competitive pay, nice perks though at least in Seattle we dont really have similar perks (discount for lots of shops and tourism places) as Microsoft. Nice building and great great free food and high quality drinks. Smart people around you, interesting projects around you always.

Cons

High pressure and relatively bad work life balance. But most of people may not care that much since the pay is good enough. Also as the company grows, you start seeing some toxic colleagues here and there. In terms of benefits, I am wondering when will we have 401k matching to the up limit($9000).
