Pros
Great people whom really care and want to make a difference. Great perks, total compensation is top of market. You get to leverage your expertise daily. You don't have to prove you're smart once you join - they trust in the hiring the right people. The company moves fast and is nimble. Very high growth. Work is challenging, and you get lots of opportunities to stretch and grow.
Cons
COVID has made it almost untenable at Meta. Coverage for leaves falls on existing team with little to no empathy or support. You're expected to just make it work and figure it out. There are no tradeoffs or prioritization with goals. Because nothing drops off the laundry list of priorities, few things actually get accomplished and the cycle repeats year after year. Meta is turning into a corporate behemoth that's too insular to accept and act on feedback from users, employees, etc... When you start to think you know best, and everyone else is just wrong, it's a bad sign (this isn't just a bad press cycle - Meta needs to get better about the negative role it plays in misinformation, harmful content, etc.)
