Pros

General Pros: The salary, the benefits, the prestige, the overall digital resources, and access to all sorts of groups. Some great people. Product Design Pros: Robust design systems, design expertise/protocols, and many new inspriring ways of working There are some of the most amazing women there and some very good humans. Key word is some though.

Cons

Where can I start...the list is mega long. Should I start with the horrible recruitmentli/team placement mistake that caused major setback after setback. Yes, they put me on the type of team that they swore they never would. The really bad manager accountability, who prefers to be more of a boss vs. a leader. Or could I address some of the most ruthless and two-faced narcisstic coworkers with the most severe case of unconscious bias and fat egos you will ever encounter? Or is it really their fault or the company culture that made them that way? Its kind of like Squid games, but then you remember that the people you work with don't actually come from the most desperate lives who need to be fighting for their lives, just people with severe personality disorders/power trip and ego issues. I've talked to several designers on my team who were not happy, severely stressed, and felt super disparaged.

Pros

Research freedom, fantastic international research opportunities, clear path for career progression, great benefits, large investment in developing high-quality research teams - some of the most intelligent researchers work here.

Cons

Although it can differ team-to-team, UX Researchers are typically lower on the ladder in terms of product team hierarchy and expectations to make sure research creates impact is often on the shoulders of the researchers rather than being promoted by product team leaders.

Pros

- Good pay - Nice, smart people - You have support for everything. There is a team at Facebook for referrals, DEI, recruiting tools, compensation, immigration, etc. If you need something, there is definitely a team for it. This is a pro and a con. - Worked here for 4 years and genuinely felt like my manager had my back.

Cons

- Large, convoluted teams. There are so many recruiting support teams that you don't know who to turn to for help at times. Also, there are times when I can manage something myself, but am forced to hand it over to a supporting team because it's "their job". - They place a huge emphasis on doing recruiting projects. If you're not doing a recruiting project, forget about being promoted. Doing excellent recruiting and closing lots of roles is NOT enough. This emphasis on project work leads to people literally making up meaningless projects just to say they're doing extra work. It's a part of the culture that really needs to change.
