Pros

Intentional and methodical regarding strategic growth. Great overall culture. Many growth and career opportunities. Amazing growth incentives for nursing or aspiring nurses. Great benefits. Transparency. Amazing people at every level of the organization who are truly committed to our mission, vision, and values.

Cons

Consistent and speedy growth which is great, but sometimes the “infrastructure” doesn’t always match the growth rate. It eventually catches up, but we are known to run lean. Titles do not always match the output/job responsibility, which in turn can reflect in pay. There could be more opportunities for ancillary staff and ancillary leaders. The ceiling for ancillary directors stops there, but many have a desire to move towards executive operational roles. You can have a MBA or MHA, clinical experience, and tenure, but still not get the opportunity. Ancillary does not have that next step growth pathway or level of representation and we have many amazing ancillary leaders that are capable of the next step into executive leadership.

Thank you for sharing such honest and meaningful feedback. We’re grateful for your recognition of our culture, growth opportunities, and the people who make this organization so special. We also appreciate your insights around the challenges that come with rapid growth. Your perspective on infrastructure, role alignment, and advancement opportunities — especially for ancillary leaders — is important, and we hear you. We appreciate input like this as we continue to grow and evolve. Your suggestion around foundational leadership training for emerging and informal leaders is a great callout, and we appreciate you sharing it so thoughtfully. Feedback like this helps us move forward with intention. Thank you for being invested in our mission and for helping us get better every day.

Pros

The culture is exceptional. The leadership and employees are beyond the best! I have worked at two other health systems and have now been at Methodist for 2.5 years. I have never felt more at home. I feel blessed daily working at Methodist.

Cons

Methodist is growing. And with that comes growing pains. But nothing negative.
