Pros
Good pay and benefits--no real politics involved in hiring or promotions, which is great! One takes a test for many promotable positions, so advancement is done fairly...If you like the lack of office atmosphere and office politics, it's good!
Cons
Oh dear... Loss of a life... You're either going to work, leaving work, at work, or recovering from work....You're always tired, as you are expected to be between 15 minutes to 30 minutes early . "On time" is LATE. You won't see weekends or most holidays FOR YEARS. This means MAJOR Holidays--Christmas, New Years. No more spontaneity--no more 'calling in sick' to go skiing or to the beach--they'll call your house to check up on you!
