Pros

Great supervisors and Company to work with

Cons

There weren't really any negatives besides long hours if you're scared to work

Pros

Michels is not afraid to innovate and use new, more effective technologies. Brownsville Yard is top notch and an example of what any construction company should aspire to.

Cons

Work life balance is non existent if you are a field employee and not one who sits in the office. You get jumped around with little to no warning and are expected to be ok with it. Management rewards based more on personal relationships than work quality or ethic. Serious disconnect between regional offices, things are done entirely different depending on where you are. No standard operating procedures across the board becomes extremely frustrating quickly.

Pros

The guys on the crews are great, but they're local union workers not Michels employees.

Cons

Took a salary (no overtime) offer right out of college as a "Quality Control/Quality Assurance Engineer" for "45+" hours a week. Those are in quotes intentionally; my first day I was told my hours would be 6am-5pm Monday through Saturday (around 70 hours a week) and the job was a glorified field secretary. There was no option to negotiate overtime and you are basically told you are expendable. They also had zero training program and terrible upper management practices which were the definition of "rolls down hill".
