It's a easy job with good pay for students

Pros

It is really informal and people are nice. The working environment is nice for students, and it's a good resume builder.

Cons

There is virtually no communication between management and employees. There is no training on how to perform the work and how to interact with clients.

Fun to work there as a student

Pros

You get to watch the events that you're ushering for like basketball games and concerts. The customer service experience that you establish is great because you get to interact with customers and challenge yourself to make the contact time between them and you as positive as possible.

Cons

It's not fun getting yelled at for other peoples' bad seats. Not very good communication from supervisors. Ushers don't get radios so when there's a problem, they have to flag down a supervisor without leaving their post (aka stand and wait).

Pros

The campus features many intertwined departments all working together to achieve a common goal. Because of that there are a lot of opportunities to work with other departments. And for students it is a great opportunity to build your resume while working on campus and trying to do well in classes at the same time!

Cons

As a student sometimes it is hard to fit in work and class, and sometimes scheduling can be annoying. But nothing is too bad.
