Pros

There is so much potential in our software solutions - with the individual products, solutions areas, and the company portfolio as a whole. We truly have great stuff to offer our customers! We should be absolutely killing it in the market.

Cons

The leadership in this company has no idea what is broken. We are not on a path to succeed. Issues are always blamed on "the disruption of the merger", but we all know (the people who do the work) that the biggest issues are lack of real leadership and no ability to execute on the basics. The corporate marketing org is one of the best examples of that. A lot of people are in roles that they shouldn't be in and they make poor decisions because of their lack of knowledge/experience (most often no decisions at all are made which is even worse). I do my best every day, but Micro Focus is a very frustrating place to work for those of us who want to be part of something great.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We agree that the company has a diverse and exciting portfolio of products for our customers. We’ve been through a lot of change recently which has created some challenges, and we’re tackling them through a number of transformation programs that will simplify and improve our operations. We’ve already seen improvements, for example response time to IT or HR enquiries are decreasing and our new IT leader will be looking at further improvements for the long term. The leadership team is also constantly looking for ways to improve the way we work to provide greater value to our customers. This can take time, so we appreciate your support during this process.

Pros

Some good co-workers. Decent pay. Pretty good benefits. Flexible work schedule.

Cons

Where to start? So many mergers and acquisitions that everything is changing ALL THE TIME. I have had 4 different managers in 18 months time. Product managers have changed 3 times in one year. There are systems in place from mergers over 8 years ago that have still not been integrated and doesn’t look to be integrated anytime soon. Senior management more focused on band-aiding problems rather than actually fixing them. Most managers have been there so long and all they can do is adjust and adapt, not leaving a lot of room for any actual innovation or progress. No wage increases or career growth. Constant layoffs and recently re-hired many of those that were just laid off. So much turnover because if you survived the cut, you are definitely getting overworked making up for all the cuts. Be warned about all the positive reviews that state "no cons" at all. Even the best companies have their cons. The difference is that those companies actually fix those problems.
