Not bad, Not good

Pros

Work- life balance is very good Laid back environment. No one is stressing you or pushing your limits. "not sure if that's a pro or con" Stable profitable company with a proven business model.

Cons

Salaries are not competitive. No free tea or coffee, this will give you an idea of what to expect inside. If you are coming from an acquisition, forget all the benefits and pros, start building your resume and find another employer ASAP. They will never treat you fair as any new employee and if not laid off suddenly they will treat you badly.

Thank you for the feedback. Glad to hear that you think Microchip is a good place to work. We recommend that employees review our internal job postings if they are interested in doing different type of work and follow our internal application process. Employees are given first consideration, however they must meet the qualifications for the role. If an employee is interested in learning a new skill in addition to performing their regular job responsibilities, they should speak to their management and/or HR to explore their options. We are committed to the development of our people and do not want to see someone quit and look to be rehired just to advance their skill set. We also practice an open door policy, which means employees are free to discuss their ideas, concerns and interests with HR, their management, upper management and anyone else in a position to help. Thanks again for the feedback! Glad you are part of the team!

Pros

Stable company, very difficult to be fired so job stability as well. Decent benefits but nothing special.

Cons

Low base pay, company makes it seem like you are getting great pay by giving you stock grants, but they are always vested in 4 years, so you will always lose 4 years worth of stock grants when you leave (even in retirement). Very lean culture when it comes to everything. Makes some of the equipment old and run down. Hard to get the things you need at times.
