      Pros

      Microchip has been outperforming many of its competitors through its unique business model in a matured industry. This makes Microchip a good company to work for in terms of stability. - Work life balance is terrific with flexible hours - Everyone in the company is very friendly and willing to work with each other - CEO is transparent about how the company is doing and the direction we are going - Microchip likes promoting from within and offers training for growth - Benefits are good overall - Microchip shares it's profits through quarterly bonuses that all employees are eligible for

      - 401k match could be better - Not a good fit for job seekers looking for more money

      Good benefits, tuition reimbursement

      Cons

      Microchip has changed how they evaluate their employees and with little to no money in the department budgets, you can go years without any kind of salary increase. But you might get a "discretionary bonus" if your lucky. I am individual contributor (not production); My reviews are great year after year, but no promotion even after 8 years in the same department. New people are coming in making what I make, or close to it. Sometimes I wonder if I'm wasting my time with a company that does not value me.

      * Same work so don't need to use brain * Paid retirement life while you are working

      Cons

      * full of politics for raise and promotion * Promotion(3-4% salary increase) or raise(1-2% salary increase) give as a favor in such bad economy( it always bad for them) * Manager can not digest innovative idea from Juniors.
