Microchip has changed, but there is still hope
Pros
Microchip works to provide good products, and in many cases, in a timely manner. The company understands the need to drive for profits, which therefore provides good jobs and benefits to its people. Generally, it's well run company. The senior management team seems to have strong integrity, and are generally good people. in general taking good care of employees.
Cons
The company is losing its forward, creative thinking. There is a shift away from creativity, to being much more process focused. Process oriented thinking is great for any organization, but it's coming at the expense of creativity and growth. The COO seems to work very hard, and has a strong business sense and background, yet he appears to have a blind spot in terms of people assessment. History has shown he has 'favorites', and tends to promote those who are more follower oriented in their styles, and less so those who are true leaders.
