Pros

The people are friendly and everybody is important to their respected team. I feel like Microchip is a stable company with no layoffs in the recent past and none in the foreseeable future.

Cons

Pay raises are few and far between across the entire company. The company is very cost conscious, which is a good thing for shareholders except that as employees we end up using old and outdated equipment and computers.

Pros

Nothing is good here, avoid! Everything they would say to you over the phone and in the interview process is a lie.

Cons

They promise you stocks for what they call "salary sacrifice", a 10% salary cut because "they don't do layoffs". However, low-key, they start laying people off after they contribute a lot of money to the "collective salary sacrifice" they won't see any of it back, that's stealing and makes me very pissed off.

Pros

Free coffee and soda at the cafeteria. Hybrid (not offered to new hires till after one year)

Cons

Microchip doesn’t invest in growing their own people. Sure, they’ll cover tuition, but there’s zero incentive to stay once you finish. Promotions? Forget it. They’d rather hire middle management from outside than develop internal talent. If you’re young, it’s fine for padding your résumé before moving on. Otherwise, it’s mostly where boomers go to ride out their careers until retirement. If you get an interview, aim high on salary—you’ll need it. Raises are a joke, maybe 5% every two years. Bonuses are laughable: inconsistent, tiny, and when they actually happen, you’re looking at about $500. No commissions here, either. You can crush every quarter, but if the board says no bonus, you get nothing. Meanwhile, the board is taking home generous stock awards. Bottom line: You’ll work hard, but the rewards go upward, not outward.
