      Pros

      Fiscally conservative, few rash decisions at top management continuously profitable over the long run, good investment Maintaining employees is priority, few layoffs.

      Cons

      Not enough employees to cover work. Employees are overworked to save profit. Company is expanding from acquisitions and growing beyond its capability.

      Pros

      Microchip is a special company. Instead of having a few large customers, it has thousands of small customers. This makes it stable (one customer loss will not sink the ship). It has been able to weather a few economical storms better than the average technology company. It has a very pragmatic management style.

      Cons

      This place may not be very exciting for young people. A lot of products are 10+years old, which is fantastic from an ROI point of view, but very boring from a young energetic professional's point of view.

      Pros

      Employee involvement in the company goals is a primary focus of this company. Keeping open lines of communication throughout the chain of employees supports everyone aiming at these common goals. The respect given to employees here is amazing. The ability to grow into richer work responsibilities is part of the culture. You can grow into any type of roll you put your mind to achieving.

      Cons

      It takes a certain type of individual to work at Microchip. You need to buy into the shared exposure of the company in regards to your individual success. The flip side of this team player approach is that when the company does well, the success and benefits are shared with everyone.
