      Retiring Company

      Pros

      1. The designs are small and simple with little to no complexities involved which makes it perfect for an entry level designer or a retiring employee. 2. There is no word called "Deadline" in microchip dictionary which makes your life easy. 3. If you ever want to know what "stability" or "job security" means, take a look at Microchip. 4. Wonderful colleagues and fun filled environment.

      Cons

      1. PAY? It's a big joke here. For an entry level/senior engineer, it is at least 20-30% less than industry standard. 2. 401k/Bonus? Don't even mention it. 3.The MCUs don't require any state of the art design and hence the company is stuck with outdated technology. I don't think it would ever change. 4. Lot of engineers with poor technical knowledge.

      Pros

      This place requires no extra hours, has a relaxed atmosphere, and minimal process/paperwork for the engineers. It is an excellent arrangement if you have a family, or other interest outside of the workplace that cause you to value your time more than a competitive salary, and if you like to write code more than you like to push paper around.

      Cons

      You will need to challenge yourself if you want to keep growing, as the work environment will not challenge you. Very few young people work here. Salary is below-average. The reward system is a little strange.
