      Pros

      You work with some of the most forward thinking people in the world. There is a singular theme when working here which to change the world for the better through technology and software. Great networking opportunity especially Redmond. If you are strategic minded, than observing how work gets done in this company is priceless because its almost like magic.

      Cons

      Some groups are highly political. Middle management act more like managers than leaders, too many are bad at both. Although the company is scorecard driven in every department, it is far from balanced. There are very few people in the middle and lower parts of the chain that question fundamental assumptions regarding priorities and methodologies. Middle management doesn't know how hard the individual contributors work sometimes. Field positions are not respected as much as corporate roles.

      Pros

      It’s a great brand name to represent, but I would not recommend working here to a friend (which I wanted to keep). It’s a relaxed working environment where you don't have to work too hard to meet objectives if your moderately effective which is reflected in the average compensation packages. Whilst the organization does try to invest in development, advancement rapidly becomes "dead man’s shoes". A great place to land for s couple of years career R&R between proper high performance jobs.

      Cons

      Don't stay too long, the apathy of an easy life can be a hard habit to kick.
