Pros

Some great people who work hard and try to make a difference supporting our military.

Cons

Lots of kingdoms and silos. Hard to get anything accomplished from a business standpoint. They get the mission done, but always seem to be operating in a gray area from a business (acquisition and accounting) perspective.

Pros

International travel, quality health insurance, save on personal living expenses while on board the ship.

Cons

Minimum time at sea for months… Standard time sea 8 to 10 months. Average overdue time for Mariners is four months. The company touts on their website that a second officer will make $184,000 per year. That is true if you are on a ship for 10 months straight.
