      Pros

      Used to be gaining sea time fast. Now you can still do that but at the expense of your happiness and literally the rest of your life as after 12 months at sea they'll be calling you 30-45 days after you get home harassing you to come back.

      Cons

      No work life balance. Completely out of touch office management. Focusing on the wrong priorities. They treat their mariners with outright contempt, even their Captains and Chief Engineers (I was directly called a liar by one of them).

      Pros

      Money was ok, able to get out of debt before I quit.

      Cons

      Worked around so many bad people. Met a few good people. Msc has a dark side. Some people on the ship practice witchcraft or (black magic) or whatever you want to call it from the Philippines. I know people who have been affected by that practice who are still on the ship. I am one of those people and I’m still going through it even though I no longer work for MSC. Thank goodness I’m not there anymore. Be careful who you befriend or talk to not everyone is good.

      Pros

      If you are looking for a retirement plan and good Benefits being a civil service employee is a good idea.

      Cons

      You will be working on a military oriented company. If you can’t work on basics military environment and be away from home for a minimum of 6 months, please consider is not for you.
