Office doesn't care about you (you are a number.....at best) You are treated like a uniformed service member without the benefits and protections of being in the military. You will never get relieved on time. I worked there for over a decade and they can never manage their manning. They over hired, under hired and can literally never retain enough people. This doesn't even consider the quality of the people they retain. Many of your coworkers will have problematic behavior in port. They are treated like commodity at MSC and so they treat people in port like a commodity. You will never have enough time with your family. You will never get the vacation time you want. You will be relieved overdue so much that you spend a lot of the time dealing with life admin, dentist appointment, medical appointments, drivers license renewals and everything else between. 4 months on and 2 months off is still below industry standard and unacceptable.

Workforce is diminished. Quality of life. Shoreside is hiring unprofessional people to fill void.
