Pros

Direct managers care about their team and their work Most coworkers are fantastic people

Cons

Profits are placed above people Decisions are made by millionaire CEO and board members to cater to shareholders without thought of how decisions will impact the thousands of employees who are overworked and only make an average of $44,000/year. While direct managers care they are powerless and kept in the dark on many major decisions that directly impacted their teams and are left to clean up the mess and try to make sense of the chaos. Departments are so siloed (ie "sorry, not my job" mentality) that nothing gets done efficiently and change management is non-existent.

Pros

- "Unlimited" vacation policy for Office employees is offered immediately. No need to wait 20 years to get 4-5 weeks off. - Relaxed office culture with 3 days in the office and 2 at home if your job allows it. - Good benefits - Competitive Salaries - Many opportunities to change roles internally and advance - MillerKnoll seems to be committed to manufacturing in the US and continues to invest in Manufacturing

Cons

- Herman Miller used to be a Great company to work for - now I think it is just Good. - Benefits costs have increased over the last 10-15 years. - Bonuses have become smaller and less reliable - Salary increases have become smaller and less reliable - Office furniture sales globally are still down from the Pandemic - A little too focused on Diversity and Inclusion instead of focusing on actual qualifications for a job.
