Pros

Full benefits, decent salary, stable company, very diiverse portfolio, great stock price. Once the "lifers" leave the company, this might be a great place to work. (Too many people that have been there too long and have the attitude of "this is how we have always done it" instead of embracing new ideas. Great marketing and communication department filled with great people. On-site cafe. Free parking for downtown company. Metrolink nearby. Close to all major highways. Biotech area is more progressive

Cons

The systems are out of date. They use Lotus Notes. The corporate office is a scene right of the 1950's - the senior execs are all men with one token women who has great ideas but can't get them past the old boys club. The executive support staff is managed very poorly and they are treated like children and they are expected to be submissive. Don't even think of entering the executive area without an invitation uless you want to be treated horrible by most of the support staff. They do not value process improvment or fresh ideas. The HR department is a complete joke with a few very quality people sprinkled in but they can't change the system. This trickles down from the worst HR leader imaginable. They have a very vague anti-harrassment policy that they don't follow. There are only 4 diverse managers in the company (less than 1%). Gain the experience you can and then run, run run!

Pros

*Benefits, compensation, on-site cafeteria, employee lounges *Clean and modern workplace, eco-minded culture *Learning opportunities, possible growth if you fit DEI goals *New CEO appears to actually know what he is saying (4th CEO in 5 years)

Cons

*German based leadership and business culture (Merck KGaA), fake leadership, political based attitudes, unrealistic ideas, virtue signaling “high potential people”, a 350+ yr old drug company that doesn’t have any 10 top drugs. *Horrible level of transparency, backstabbing middle management and senior engineers, delusional executives, obsession with diversity and DEI, unearned promotions, decaying workforce culture, resistance to making meaningful change, culture of no integrity, clear lies are never called out, evil characters are promoted as its thought “minority” people wouldn’t ever be like that, major coverup of the high turnover rate. *Culture of uneducated perspectives, incorrect prospectives of the actual markets, removal of any engineer or worker that questions the management or senior engineers, a common practice of say one thing do another, underutilization of technologies, technical leadership offends the older workforce, too many Ph.D geniuses, not enough innovators, HR acts like a shadow police department, most non DEI professionals have moved on to work for competitors. *Note that Glassdoor is deleting negative reviews on behave of MilliporeSigma. I’ve had two deleted, this review is a reproduction. I’ve noticed other negative reviews have disappeared over the past year. Clearly, viewers are getting a altered view.

Pros

- Great Salary + Benefits - Very Clean and Friendly Facility - On Site Caf - Easy work for the $

Cons

Management promotes based on their personal relationship with the employee rather than on qualifications, work ethic, or performance. This has led to a situation where many people in management are completely unqualified for their jobs and have to rely on "chat gpt" and others at the company to get any actual work done. They then promote their unqualified friends, leading to a massive buildup of nepotism and poor leadership. Massive culture of pushing issues down the chain of command so those in higher positions never have to deal with anything or do any work. Its sad as the fantastic aspects of the company are overshadowed by local poor management. Many great employees have left the company for opportunities where they're rewarded for hard work rather than punished.
