Pros

There are some really talented development and design professionals here… that’s without question. Some of the absolute best mobile engineers and backend developers I have ever worked with. Some senior staff also extremely talented and personable. Along with some very solid in-office perks.

Cons

I have never had more anxiety and/or dread for driving into work than Mindgrub in my entire career. There was serious talent on staff, but the juice was not worth the squeeze. Pay may be slightly above average for the agency world, but you’re severely underpaid compared to in-house (likely in most cases). All the while you are tracking every single billable hour for contracts you likely will not agree with and for clients/accounts that were over promised / over delivered from the outset. If you have serious skills that can be utilized by Mindgrub, I can almost guarantee that you can earn more $$$ in-house with far less stress, without tracking all of your time, and generally speaking, a better work-life balance.

Pros

* Working at Mindgrub means working with some of the top talent in the country, with a strong mix of self-taught and educated developers, designers and project managers. * You will work with many VERY large corporations, many of which could easily afford to have their own development department. As such you will learn how to work with these companies and the many constraints that often come with such a task. * Mindgrub OWNS projects. In general, you will not be expected to produce low quality work to meet deadlines, the PMs will work hard to extend deadlines if necessary to provide a solid ROI. * If you have an EXTREMELY obscure idea, such as using C/C++ inside of a mobile project, there's a strong chance if it meets the goal in the time allotted you'll be given the approval to approach it.

Cons

* During my time there were plenty of problematic staff, including a sexist HR employee, multiple people in leadership that will gladly point fingers and fail to lead. As I understand, most if not all of these employees no longer work for Mindgrub, the fact they remained employed during my tenure is concerning. * Collaboration is very hit and miss - if you present an idea that has a high ROI and even reduces development time, "I'm not going to call the client, just do it as we said" isn't uncommon. * Being volun-told to do work both on projects you are involved in and projects you are not involved in is very common. * Upper management shows zero interest in production staff - they focus a majority of their efforts on business development. * The accusations of fake reviews on here were often met with criticism and often backhanded remarks - I can confirm with absolute certainty that these fake reviews existed and were written by the same sexist employee who no longer works for Mindgrub, as they often bragged about it. * Too much of a focus on image and not enough on hiring based on skill. During my tenure, we had an intern who was never given ANY work and was only hired for their skin color. * A lot of employees were afraid that it would be discovered they weren't registered Democrat - and there was a lot of political talk from upper management that pushed hard liberal ideas. As someone who gets along with people all over the political spectrum and identifies as a hard centrist, it was very off-putting and made me feel unwanted.
