Pros

Holidays, generous PTO, employee discounts, (most) coworkers

Cons

No merit raises only ATB, so bad employees get the same raise as dedicated hard-working. Staff are given extra work for the same pay (even when they don't replace someone and just heap on their job duties), but faculty are given a stipend for every extra thing they do.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience—and for your more than 10 years of dedicated service to Missouri State University! We’re glad to hear you’ve found value in the benefits, time off, and community environment. We understand your concerns regarding pay structure, workload distribution, and recognition for staff contributions. These are important issues, and we appreciate your honesty. While across-the-board (ATB) raises are intended to provide consistency, we recognize that different roles and responsibilities can evolve in ways that impact workload and morale. Your feedback helps reinforce the importance of finding better ways to recognize and support our staff, and provides us with valuable evidence to bring forward for ongoing improvements. Missouri State University is committed to fostering a workplace culture that values employee input and reflects our Public Affairs mission. We're continually evaluating policies, including those related to compensation, staffing, and employee recognition. Thank you again for your long-term commitment to the University. Your voice matters, and we appreciate the opportunity to learn from your experience. —MSU Human Resources
