      Pros

      Holidays, vacation and sick time accrual, and less stressful than corporate world.

      Cons

      Very low starting salaries, well below industry averages and no raises for 7 years.

      Pros

      Good vacation package. Nice offices (if you like being stuck indoors). Education opportunities if you can find classes that don't take place during your work hours.

      Cons

      Politics, politics, politics. Meetings, meetings, meetings. Then more politics. Constantly changing the programming languages being used. Multiple languages/technologies used in nearly each system. Very little programming standards. Unless you know someone you have to park and walk 15-20 minutes to get to work.
