Pros

If you stay for 6 months you will probably be the longest term employee ! Isn't that great !

Cons

Unless you are Pre-existing friends with one of the insiders, you are completely screwed with the new management. The Board has got the grim reaper to produce some revenues and profits, and there is no strategy / insight / enterprise expertise / etc.

Earnest but corporate-leaning culture

Pros

Pleasant work environment. Everyone is cordial towards each other and is earnestly trying to build a better company. No-meeting Thursdays. Hits all the right notes with the perks and work-life balance.

Cons

No compelling technology vision. Any semblance of passion for the company has been long gone, or never flourished to begin with. Company leadership is in flux, and generally nowhere to be seen. Talent bar is so-so, and some groups are *abysmal*. Risk-taking is discouraged ostensibly to minimize the possibility of bugs, even though the database product is riddled with them and more facepalm-level ones are found every week. Because of the risk-averse culture, there is no compulsion to pursue interesting projects, and it's harder to recruit and retain talent if there's no motivation to tackle interesting problems. It's becoming increasingly slow-moving, opaque, process-heavy, and JIRA-centric. I'd go as far as to characterize it as a JIRA *fetish*. No joke. To modify temperature controls, you need to file a JIRA. Every thermostat in the main New York City office has a sign on top of it saying so.

Pros

- heavily dependent on leadership. i've had leaders i'd follow into battle, and i've also had leaders that made me want to quit on the spot. - devs love the product - i was very lucky with awesome SAs, product teams are always willing to jump on a call - "MBA in sales" for a while......... years 1-2 i learned a TON- i feel like this culture has shifted into focusing more on managing based on outbound metrics (how many meetings per week and what kind of meeting, how much PG, etc.) vs focusing on actual SELLING / the intricacies and skills related to actual deal strategy. you know, closing deals? the thing that actually makes AEs $$$? - my work life balance was always great until my most recent role.... my manager would guilt trip me for going on PTO even if i was pacing to hit my #. part of why i made the decision to leave finally.

Cons

- see above - micromanagement culture especially in the PLS org (found myself having meetings just for the sake of having a meeting to get my meeting # up even though the time would be better spent doing something else) - OTE for positions has not been adjusted in YEARS!!!! comp plans are confusing and you have to jump through a million internal hoops just to close a deal / get credit for a new workload. - culture is declining QUICKLY! i was at mongo for almost 4 years and have seen the highs and lows and right now is an all time low. i would avoid until the amer sales orgs get their ish figured out. i can't speak for the growth orgs but at least PLS and enterprise acq. - good luck getting promoted! even if you are fully qualified and ready for promo, the org you are currently in will try to keep you there for their own gain. it happened to me and has happened to many many others. when i finally got promoted i was told by my new leaders that my previous leaders were selfishly trying to sabotage me getting promoted because i was a top performing rep. insane!
