There is not enough staff to support the growth in student population. As a union place, there are lots of mediocre work done here. It's used as a crutch to rationalize a poor work ethic. Not everyone acts this way but it's pretty rampant. The pay is not the best so you have to really value the mission. We do not get 100% of our funding from the state government, yet they get to dictate 100% of the rules. It is very command and control, micro-managed culture. There is very little empowerment. If you happen to get a supervisor who doesn't succumb to this, then you can have a great experience.
