Pros
Some students are wonderful and I enjoy many of the staff. There is a union for instructors that provides some protection.
Cons
Research shows that there is an inverse relationship between student evaluations and learning. Students do not like to work hard. The university uses student evaluations to evaluate teaching, except for the occasional class visit. Student evaluation scores on average for all professors have been going up every year, i.e., grade inflation. There is no push back. Students will learn less year after year if this continues. It's a scam.
