Some people do not work very much. If you are one of those people, work-life balance is good for you.

Cons

I believe the company, at least the research department, systematically discriminates against older employees. If you have a career, pass this company by. If you are starting out in your career and want to learn how to carry out business in an unprofessional way with unpleasant people, this is your big chance.

interesting jobs (especially if you work as an equity or mutual fund analyst) flexibility and lots of time off, such as sabbaticals every 4 years, time off at your discretion with most people taking about 4 weeks off per year; good benefits, especially health insurance, the hours are reasonable, most people get off around 5PM, it's not your typical finance job hours. Also, flexible hierarchy and advancement comes by merit, if you do well then you will be promoted. Also, people hired are pretty decent people, and there are opportunities to go abroad if you want. Morningstar also gives you free bagels

Some business units have 0 vision and plans. Not an ideal place if you want to learn new technologies. Everybody’s withholding information to save their jobs. Would not recommend if you are a mid to senior level engineer who likes to be on top of your game.
