Solid career starting point, but company's direction is troubled
Pros
-Solid company to start a career or make a career change; very willing to bring on people with soft skills and teach them about the financial data world through a very comprehensive onboarding process -Relatively relaxed culture compared to many corporate settings, nearly everyone is friendly and many teams are highly social -Terrific work/life balance, work stays at work -Unlimited PTO, and they actually mean it, provided someone is willing to cover you (and usually, someone is) -Company has proven it can be responsive to employee outcry and reverse unpopular policy decisions (insurance carrier) -Donuts or bagels once a week, free coffee/tea/soda -Central office location with L station directly below building, bus stops outside, and Metra short walk away
Cons
-CEO believes RTO is key to success, moving to four days in-office in 2026 -HR seems to have increasingly limited flexibility on policies -Offloading several products during strategic realignment, company had provided extremely opaque product roadmaps until that was announced -Benefits used to be the strongest selling point for compensation vs lower-than-industry-comp salary, but now benefits continue to weaken -Current strategic direction seems uncertain, and seems to be a good deal of upper management turnover happening
