Pros

The company can potentially provide great work opportunities, training and experience for Registered Dietitians. It also provides continuing education via regional meetings, using in-house, upper-level Dietitians and Corporate Dietitians. There are great resources available for Dietitians, many of them are available on-line.

Cons

Coming to an existing facility and merging management styles, philosophies and personnel is the challenge that Morrison Management Specialists faces. Morrison relies on acquiring and maintaining contracts for food service management and clinical nutrition management services. Yet, Clinical Nutrition Managers are not always respected as managers. This can create tension among the Dietitian and the Food Service Manager, who may or may not understand what a Clinical Dietitian's job entails. Additionally, the idea of placing a team of managers in a facility, without introducing the team to each other, or to the existing employees, managers and administrators at the facility can lead to conflict. It can place the team at odds and can make for an uncomfortable work situation.

Pros

Food service directors are paid well, especially in the larger accounts. If you have a great regional team and support its a great company. Great training and lots of opportunities in the company.

Cons

They preach love em or lose em, taking care of employees, etc. For the most part this is true. But beware the higher up you go it's not the same. High level leadership are paranoid, egotistic, career conquerors that live and die by perception and self image, not the principles they preach. Top top leadership is also very disconnected from what the company does in each account and sometimes they get in the way of managers doing what is right and best for clients.

Pros

Innovative nutritional programs, focused culinary development, opportunities for advancement available. Total compensation package is superior to market competitors. Management training programs are top notch for most key unit positions.

Cons

More focus on the unit level, less from 30,000 ft "view". Each account has it's own identity some more demanding than others but it is at the unit level where companies make an impact or impression through client satisfaction/retention or referrals & opportunities for new business. Front-line employees (both management & staff) make or break the company, not the other way around.
