Dont work at Quillen Rehabilitation Hospital
Pros
Good pay Decent work hours Flexible for someone who goes to school If you want to work at a place that you can get away with just about anything, this is the place to work.
Cons
Hostess never showed up on time so that meant the Cold Prep (which was me) had to go pass out trays plus make sure my duties were being kept up to par. Nursing staff treated you like garbage. I had one nurse who started yelling in my face in front of a patient's room asking why a patient didn't get any dinner. The patient had told the hostess that they didnt want anything. Nursing staff did not let the dietary department know that the patient was not mentally well. When I told my supervisor about what happened, NOTHING WAS DONE ABOUT IT! No apology, nothing. They just acted like it never happened! If you have a problem with a co-worker, don't bother going to your main supervisor. The only thing they will do is give you a 1-800 number to call. This co-worker literally threw a child's tantrum on me when I caught them cleaning the floors the way the supervisor told us NOT to do. I told my supervisor everything that had happened and I came in the next day to discuss it with her and the co-worker. When we sat down and talked about it, no disciplinary action was taken. The supervisor basically told the co-worker to not do it again. The co-worker still works there to the best of my knowledge. People that have worked there for a long time think they can get away with anything, and their right because they do. I worked with a cook who had worked there for 10+ years tell me to not worry about what she put on the patient's trays when I clearly caught her purposely not cutting patients' food who needed their food to be cut up due to a physical injury or if they had trouble swallowing their food. I told the cook that she had to cut it up, and she simply yelled at me and told me to mind my own business. Again I told my supervisor about it, and again no disciplinary action was taken. There are 0 cameras in the kitchen. That is something that needs to change. Half of the stuff that goes on when supervisors are not around could be prevented if they had cameras on all of their employees. I know the Johnson City Medical Center has them and their owned by the same company, so why doesn't Quillen Rehabilitation Hospital have them?
