Pros

Based around core values like authenticity, generosity, and empathy, the culture at Moz is fantastic. The people truly care about one another, and want each other to succeed. This is especially true of senior management. Salaries are competitive, benefits are really wonderful (vacation expense reimbursement and professional coaching, e.g.), and there's lots of room/encouragement to grow as an employee. Moz has also matured quite a lot over the last few years. It's exited what some call its "teenage years" and has become more efficient and effective as a result, despite some necessary speed bumps along the way. The recent acquisition of STAT Search Analytics is exciting -- that team and product will be a powerful addition to Moz.

Cons

The last few years have brought a ton of change at Moz, including in strategy and senior leadership. It'd be a difficult place for those who aren't comfortable in an environment where strategic direction regularly shifts. In addition, all that change has often made it difficult for the company to function as a cohesive whole; quite a lot of time is spent revisiting planning and procedures. I do think that's a temporary issue, though, and it pales in comparison to the more positive aspects.

Pros

- Close knit community - Friendly and helpful people - Supportive colleagues - Remote friendly - Interesting work - Very supportive of diversity in tech Working here was a really excellent experience both for my technical growth as an engineer as well as a model of a fun, happy, relaxed, and kind culture in tech (RARE!).

Cons

It's hard to feel very good about a company when they suddenly lay off 28% of their employees, and the mood will definitely take a hit.

Appreciate the feedback. Having to downsize was hard to go through, but I am so glad you had a good experience while working here. We are hopeful that Moz can continue to have all of those positive experiences you listed.

Pros

The work is interesting and challenging. Huge fan of the focus on work/life balance; no expectation to work 80 hours/week. Benefits are outstanding. UX team manager is very invested in looking after the team and helping them along in their careers. The company values (TAGFEE) are a solid set of ideals to strive towards.

Cons

Has become quite large in the last few years, which adds a bit more overhead to your work day when getting everyone on the same page.
