      A non-profit with its focus firmly on increasing profits at any cost these days.

      Pros

      Wonderful place when I started years ago. The employees really felt like family. Management committed to staff and vice versa so staff retention was high.

      Cons

      It is all about the bottom line these days. Leadership numbers continue to increase while the rank and file are cut. The stated goal is $100 million cost reductions per year. Achieving this is demoralizing staff and alienating physicians. That's a dangerous combination.

      Healthcare providers are facing dramatic reductions in the amount we are paid for our services. Our three-year budget cutting effort is intended to proactively prepare for these cuts. While this has resulted in some job losses in the short-term it is intended to prevent larger-scale reductions in the long-term.

      Loved working at Multicare, loved my job, just the times were changing as with the cost company reductions came everything was different.

      Cons

      The work was great, co-workers not so much, be careful who you get to know and don't trust anyone even if they are your friend.
