A good place for freshers to begin their career as Software Engineers
Pros
1. Flexible timings (depends on your project lead). 2. Friendly environment, if you can open your mouth and talk. 3. 1 month of quality training for freshers (can be extended a little more to 2 months to cover much more). 4. Amount of responsibility an individual has in a project is almost equivalent to that of the project lead, since a team has a maximum of just 2-4 engineers (incl. the lead). Thus the amount of learning a fresher will get is really good. 5. Flat hierarchy upto some extent. 6. Good work-life balance if you're fast enough ;) 7. Minor things like: - A mini pantry with coffee/tea/mini-snacks available anytime. - Evening snacks and dinner/breakfast. Sodexo meal pass (for Tax benefits) - Team/Company outings. - Monthly outing with a dedicated group of 5-6 people from different projects (called a cluster) where you can share your thoughts and stuff, be it constructive or destructive. ;) The cluster lead will also be supportive for the career growth of the members. - Instant Messaging via Slack medium.
Cons
1. Compensation-wise low for freshers. (Though seniors have said there will be good hikes every year, sometimes even till 30%) 2. A little bit of minor politics at the top-level. 3. People can become good programmers (even optimizing things close to the hardware level), but when it comes to domain knowledge, say Machine Learning / Video Encoding, even seniors might struggle due to lack of a strong foundation in math and CS. 4. As of 2019, the space (environment) available in the office is quite congested. There is not even space for dining area, people have to go a faraway food court or have their lunch quietly in their seats. (some have it in the meeting rooms too). Hope they'll find a nice place soon, which they said they're targeting by June 2020. 5. More service-oriented projects, with not so much internal product development as of now. 6. Lack of a serious vision for the company, except the vision of short-term quarterly financial growths owing to which the company signs up a lot of almost random projects.
