Pros

My co workers were excellent dedicated people. Made some great friends their.

Cons

The lack of structure and and volume of work make it impossible to stay their for a long period of time. They seem to think that people just don’t fit into their philosophy of doing things, I asked my self how does a turnover of 13 people in 12 months relate to a bad fit. There is a maximum of 9 staff members there at any given time. I also don’t understand the salary review I was paid no where near 70k. The pure and simple lack of training an micromanagement make it impossible to be successful there. You are required a daily check in as to what you have done for the day along with weekly meetings for the same thing. No training no pension benifits you pay for. Their are lots of other insurance company’s in the Waterloo area.

Low pay and staff leave constantly

Pros

Did work with some great coworkers, some longer than others.

Cons

Pay not comparable to other brokerages. Hired brokers without a license, which for small brokerage is problematic. Owners keep claiming 'award winning team', what awards have been won??? Owners unaware of reputation in the industry. I myself didn't find out until trying to find another job. The stigma sticks with you. No investment in team. Ask for feedback but don't implement anything, at least while I was there. People overworked and tend to get cranky.

Mumby Insurance Brokers Response

At Mumby, we pay competitive salaries, using various tools to determine the appropriate compensation range. According to Glass Door, the average base pay in Canada for an Insurance Broker is $40,000 per annum, and in fact our Broker salary range exceeds that amount. Additional to that, we offer a generous incentive system which allows our team members many ways to earn additional income above their base compensation package. Our most important core value at Mumby Insurance is "always put clients first". In order to achieve that, we pride ourselves on providing our employees with growth opportunities to be successful in the career path they choose. When we feel we have a candidate who is capable and committed to learning what is necessary to succeed in their role, we invest in them and support them in obtaining their insurance license. We are fortunate to have a 4.2 star Google review from our clients. Of course this is because we would not be able to provide amazing customer service and exceed customer expectations without a team of dedicated professionals delivering on our brand promise. Mumby Insurance received recognition in Waterloo as Platinum Award Winner in 2014 and 2015 as "Best Insurance Agent". The Brokerage has also received numerous awards from insurance carriers. These are proudly displayed in our office for all team members, clients, and guests to view. We believe strongly in the concept of TEAM. Accordingly, we consider these to be a awards for our team as a whole, rather than any one individual. We recognize that we are not the right fit for everyone and respectfully wish this individual the best in their future career endeavors.
