Pros

Musician's Friend is located in one of the most beautiful places in the world. The people in Oregon are friendly and the atmosphere in town is great. Work life balance is achievable even though it is frowned upon by many.

Cons

There is a lack of respect or ethics from the management team. The town hall meetings are rah, rah propaganda meetings. You are required to share managements view. There is absolutely no room for creativity or teamwork. Managers speak poorly of past employees to keep the everyone else sucks propaganda flowing. This is definitely a miserable place to work.

Pros

The Music Industry is a great industry. The people here are smart, committed, fun, and hard working. We have all type's of employee run committee's to get involved in (Green, Charitable Giving, Vibes, etc.), we have Musician's Jams at local businesses (House bands - made up of employee's and they perform for free), we have company picnics, and holiday parties. The employee discount is great too! The business recognizes employee performance each month and employees recognize each other every month - Rock Star Award. I love it here!

Cons

We are growing fast, so we are in that transition stage of small company to big company. Some people like the growth because it means opportunity, some don't because things are changing and the demands are more.

Pros

There are a lot of really great people once you get past management. The vendors are great to deal with.

Cons

The management has no respect for the staff or for the vendors that make the products they sell. Great employees are being run off because they are treated like a replaceable commodity. There is zero loyalty to the staff. They ran a couple of employee surveys a few years back, and they turned out so bad that they are afraid to run them again. Integrity issues...
