Pros

History is rich, people are open to help and mentor, food is good and relatively inexpensive. My work was fascinating and I learned a great deal.

Cons

NASA research culture is SLOW. Risk averse is too nice a term, people don't even seem motivated to succeed. The civil servants are too comfortable - there is no catalyst to do amazing things anymore. The pride is non-existent outside of the brand name that NASA is siphoning from the 60's and shuttle era.

Pros

- Great work environment. There are a lot of smart people that will work with and help you. - Interesting projects.

Cons

- The pay scale is very low compared to the commercial side. If you decide to work there, it's for the love for science not money. - The red tapes can get frustrating sometimes.
