Change is not easy

Pros

I was able to work in the life science division. We got to work on solving awesome problems in space! The people are very nice.

Cons

Change is hard. The academic feels continues through the workforce. Incumbents are stuck in their ways and refuse to hear new ideas. I worked as a subcontractor and felt like a second class citizen. Most of the base is made up of contractors or sub-contractors. It's all about pleasing the civil servant and whatever they want, they shall get. Feels like everyone's got their own agenda. There are no true decision makers, just people trying to push work onto younger staff. I saw no room for growth, poor use of resources and the entire staff being stuff in the 1990s.
