      Great work to life balance and the working environment is fantastic. Management is always there to help and you are not micromanaged.

      The job is fairly repetitive and has little to do with engineering.

      * Great work life balance * Job security * Salary at 40 hrs * Friendly staff * Generous travel accommodation and plenty of training opportunities at major conferences. * Get to lead research projects with leaders in the industry.

      Cons

      * Lot of lazy government employees that drag down you ability to get work done. * Lot of time spent doing contracting admin. * Lack of management and leadership in most departments. * Limited opportunities for vertical migration unless you move to DC or become a supervisor. Though as a supervisor your hands are bound in being able to discipline poor performers. * Lack of long term vision with management.
